CONGRATULATIONS to all involved in another great month of fun, fitness and friendship at The Living Edge.
WELCOME BACK…
We are excited to welcome Damian Nenna, a much-loved OBC instructor, back to The Living Edge this month. No doubt, we will all benefit from his investment and expertise.
THANK YOU to all members of The Living Edge family for the plethora of things you do in support of each other.
Examples for this month include the many drop-offs of food and treats Sarge and Katrina received whilst sick with Covid, Justin delivering Di’s car to Prosperpine for her, Di offering a week of accomodation to someone from The Living Edge community to enjoy a trip away, recruits supporting one another in business, celebrating one another’s wins and a multitude of other random acts of kindness.
CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah Hall (past recruit) and Nick Green (past instructor) on their recent engagement.
CONGRATULATIONS also to Kirsty Palamara on her engagement to Jimmy, as well as on the recent announcement that they have a little baby boy on the way. 💙

Last year’s recipient Joe Lumiscisi awarded the shield to Joe Lee at the recent Kerferd Road beach session.
For those interested in joining us, there are a number of Living Edge recruits participating in some or all of the Rapid Ascent Trail Series – information and registration HERE

Favourite exercise
SQUAT PRESS/CLEAN PRESS
Full body compound movement…it hits a lot of muscle groups in one hit…more bang for your buck !
Least favourite exercise
CHIN UPS – Difficult and it gives you a reality check in terms of strength.
Put a Billboard anywhere in the world, where would you put it and what would it say
I would put a billboard in Greece; somewhere next to a greek man yawning his head off on a park bench and it would say: “Bill-Bored” !!!
Workout Karaoke song The original Rocky theme song…the music gets you up, and conveniently, no words to sing to !!!
Cheat Meal – Dessert…not a true meal, but it’s my kryptonite !….anything from Coles mini jam donuts to cheesecake to muffins to cannoli’s !!!….(but I have cut down heaps !!)
Last book read/movie you saw
Just finished reading MAKE YOUR BED and am half way through CURED…the power of our immune system and the mind-body connection. It’s like reading a book on anti-gravity…I can’t put it down!!!
Last film was OPERATION ODESSA.
Hero/Inspiration
Real heroes don’t fly, they make others around fly !!…and this embodies a true hero in Neal Daniher. The worse his illness gets, the bigger his smile gets. He is still himself throughout this ordeal; not feeling sorry for himself and getting on with it and getting the most out of each day…he has every right to be shitty and hard done by, but in every picture I see of him, he is always smiling !! The “beast”, as he calls this illness, may have taken his body, but it hasn’t infiltrated his soul or spirit….a true hero in my book.
My inspiration is my parents…a truly great partnership that built a dynasty through integrity and hard work, and happiness around friends and family.
Motto
Me: “…the body always follows the mind !”
Living Edge: “Start as many, finish as ONE !”
If you focus on results, you wont get change
If you focus on change, you will get results!
The Living Edge OBC
….is ME time in an environment that is bereft of judgement, where anybody IS somebody !! It is where people can be comfortable being themselves.
Advice for your 20 year old self
It’s alright to say NO…Don’t do today what you can do tomorrow.
We have streamlined the enrolment process further, allowing you to select the Saturday sessions as well as the Friday shred sessions as add-ons. Please see below examples.
Example 1: Recruit wishes to attend Wattle Park am 3 times a week, as well as Saturdays
Example 2: Recruit wishes to attend Fawkner Park am (Tues, Thurs and Sat), as well as Shred at Wattle Park on a Friday evening
We were excited to welcome John Verbi back to The Living Edge earlier this month to complete Dexascans for those wanting to receive feedback or set a benchmark on which to establish their goals. InBody analysis accurately determines your levels of body fat, lean muscle mass, and muscular development so that you can understand how your diet, lifestyle, and exercise regime are impacting on your overall body composition.
Make the most of your training by:
1. Investing in your mentor. Share your goals with one another and hold each other accountable
2. Connecting with others. Be sure to join our What’s App group (Text your name and number to 0405334061- Katrina if you need the link to join) to enjoy the informal camaraderie and banter, as well as our facebook and instagram.
3. Sharing your wins. Celebrate your small successes as well as striving for your ‘big, hairy, audacious goal’ whether that be the goal of running 5km, competing in a series of fun runs or turning up to every session for the month.
PRE-EXERCISE QUESTIONNAIRES
Please ensure your pre-exercise questionnaires are kept up-to-date.
These can be ammended at any time by visiting the member’s area.
