Advice for your 20 year old self
“relax – you’ve got this” 😉
Congratulations to Thierry and family who are now officially French AND Australian.
Congratulations also to Thierry on completeing the Marysville marathon…what an awesome achievement!!
Congratulations to Sam and Matt Green (and of course, big brother Lenny) who welcomed Edward ‘Teddy’ into their family on 4th November. (pictured left) and to Sarah Middleton and Chris Parker (and big sister Izzy) on the addition of Frankie Rose to their family. (right)
Congratulations to Jan Palamara who recently became Nana to two gorgeous grandsons.
Congratulations to Sarge Ian Leith (Leithy) on his recent retirement after 45 years as a teacher. The number of young people he has inspired, encouraged and supported would be immeasurable but his impact will be enduring.
Fantastic teamwork by all those who participated in the 2XU Wellness Run in support of Beyond Blue.
How often has it happened that you finally got motivated , finally got organised and finally started eating well and training regularly, only to see the numbers on your bathroom scale stall.
Some people of course can “soldier on” until they break through to the next level.
Sadly lots of us through frustration take it out on the nearest doughnut! After all what’s the point of being good if things aren’t changing so why bother?
So much is slowly happening to our bodies as we work hard to transform them, and so often as we do, we can’t see those changes because they happen so slowly and they are certainly are not reflected in your bathroom scales!
This is when getting your body scanned is so powerful and so useful.
When you regularly scan your body you will gain incredible insights into your body.
And sometimes that hurts! Sometimes you find out that what you are doing really isn’t working.
Sometimes you discover that you really do need to work harder, eat less volume even if it is of the “good food” you are eating.
And sometimes you need to accept that OMG….you really have improved….you weigh the same but your body composition is very different.
As a practitioner everyday I see people who weigh the same after a test but their body composition is completely different.
Let’s face it if your body is changing for the better and you are growing more muscle, losing external body fat and the nasty and dangerous internal visceral fat and your toes are getting stronger and you can see that you are well hydrated……..do you really care what you weigh? the answer should be a resounding no, but sadly that is often not the case I regularly see people who are obsessed with their “weight” and they shouldn’t be , after all I can give you a haircut or even an enema and you will weigh less but will your muscles of body fat have changed? Of course not.
Measurement can be a powerful and positive and sometimes painful motivation. I don’t shy away from the “bad result” because sometimes that is the “whack” we all need from time to time to get back on the horse and focus our attention on the only body we are ever going to be given.
A Healthy Person has 1000 wishes – a sick person only one – to get well.
Nothing makes me happier though when I see people who come towards me with that sad “sookie face” convinced that they have gone backwards, only to discover that they are improving!
So often we are too hard on ourselves and as they walk towards me they remember every naughty thing they have eaten and every session they have missed and forget about the cumulative effect of all they other workouts, the times they made healthy choices the times they said no to cake or grog and they get a lovely surprise.
At the end of the day it is simply a very accurate snapshot and window into the impact that your training eating and lifestyle is having on your body….& there is nowhere to hide…the lies and justifications we tell ourselves don’t mean a thing to the machine and really it kinda doesn’t matter anyway because at the end of the test for the super athlete or the naughty one the question is still the same…….”Where to from here”
Don’t guess, Measure & Measure Accurately
MEASURING SUCCESS ACCURATELY:
We can do a state of the art In-body scan at the start and the end of the program to track your progress and to create an opportunity to have a meaningful one on one coaching session with each person.
This test will accurately track key short and long term health markers including muscle
mass, both visceral and subcutaneous body fat, bone density and enable us to accurately track progress of the individual and the overall group.
