As we are well into the colder months, waking up early OR getting to training after work can be just that little more challenging! It’s OK to admit it’s tough but remember those ‘SMART’ Goals we talked about in the February Newsletter? – remind, re-align and reset – Remember, every step counts. Celebrate small victories, stay curious, and keep moving forward – as Jess Santamaria always says ‘YOU’VE GOT THIS!’💪🏋️♀️🌟
Catching up with Coach D over the past couple of weeks, some key messages during sessions and chats have resonated – when you sit back and think through them a little more and delve into the ‘WHY’, you might just have that ‘Aha!’ moment:
- Mentoring: As part of your program, communicate with your TLE mentor, but also seek out mentors who inspire you. Whether it’s a seasoned athlete, a supportive friend, or a dedicated trainer, their guidance can propel you forward. Remember, even the strongest started as beginners, and mentoring bridges that gap. (Don’t forget that +1)
- Recovery: Cherish recovery as much as your workouts. It’s during rest that your body rebuilds and grows stronger. Listen to your body—stretch, hydrate, and get quality sleep. Recovery isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of wisdom.
- Nutrition: Fuel your body with intention. Think of food as nourishment, not just calories. Opt for whole foods, colorful veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Remember, your plate is your palette for vitality.
- Schedule of Training: Consistency is your secret weapon. Commit to your TLE training schedule and if unable to make a session work with your coach to attend an alternative session. Outside of TLE, create a schedule that aligns with your life – whether it’s early mornings, lunch breaks, or evenings, commit to getting a walk a stretch in. Consistency breeds results.
- Seeing Experts for Advice: Seek professional advice when needed. Whether it’s a nutritionist, physiotherapist, or Coach D + K – their expertise fine-tunes your journey. Don’t hesitate—experts are your allies in progress.
